When arranging the space around the house, it is worth focusing on solutions, that ensure full functionality and comfort of everyday use. One of the good examples of this approach is the electric strike for gates. Thanks to it, even if we do not have the key to open the entrance, we can leave the property ourselves or let guests in. At the same time, we have increased certainty that no random person will cross the border of our yard. See for yourself, what electric strikes are available in the offer of the Łucznik - Lockpol brand. Get to know the latest solutions appreciated for durability, simplicity of use and ease of installation.
Which electric strike for a gate is worth choosing?
Analysing the types of the above products, we must first say, that in terms of work technology, they are divided into fail secure (NC power to open ) and fail safe (NO power to close ) ones. The fail secure electric strike for gates (e.g. electric strike 812 12-24 V AC/DC basic) is definitely a much more frequently used option. Why? The answer is very simple. In this technology, the entrance opens exactly, when the power reaches the strike. At this point, the latch is released and the gate can be opened. The user has full control over, when power is supplied to the system. This happens, when he presses a button on the intercom or uses the appropriate button on the remote control. Of course, it is still possible to open the lock using a traditional key.
However, if we choose a fail safe electric strike (e.g. Fail Safe Electric Strike 1411 12V DC), the gate can be opened only when the power will be off. So this is the opposite situation to the one found in fail secure models. Most often, fail safe technology is used in doors and gates serving as emergency exits. Then, when the power is cut off in the facility, the barriers will be released and people staying in the building or in the yard can leave the premises without any problems.
Electromagnet lock for a gate, symmetrical or asymmetrical?
Looking at the housing structure, the electric strike can be divided into an asymmetric and symmetrical version (e.g. electric strike 1420rfw 12-24v Ac/Dc with release lever). The second, symmetrical version became the most popular. Why? The solution to this puzzle is very simple. A symmetrical electric strike is one, in which the latch is centrally located. Thanks to this, the entire lock is fully universal and can be installed in gates that open to the left and to the right. For asymmetrical products, when purchasing them, we must carefully analyse the structure, so that it is fully adapted to our entrance. If we choose wrongly, the system will not be able to function properly.
Regardless of which electric strike we choose, remember, that it must meet several basic criteria. A gate with an electric strike should withstand as many opening and closing cycles as possible. The length of the warranty, that the manufacturer gives for its product is also important - the warranty period should be five years.
